How it runs

A repeatable loop, not a one-off script.

  1. 1

    Pick a template

Standard term, APR, doc fee, and tax rate defaults from your store — no more math on a napkin.

  2. 2

    Build the pencil

Vehicle price, trade, down, rebates. Amount financed and monthly recalculate live as you type.

  3. 3

    Compare scenarios

Stack 3–5 payment options side-by-side. Flag the recommended one.

  4. 4

    Send for approval

One click routes to a manager. Approve, reject, or request changes — every action is logged.

  5. 5

    Share with customer

A branded quote page at a private URL — text it, email it, drop it in the reply thread.

Anatomy of the agent

What it reads, how it thinks, what it ships.

Inputs
  • Vehicle price, trade allowance/payoff, cash down, rebates
  • Doc fee, tax rate, APR, term (months)
  • Optional template defaults per store
Reasoning
  • Sales tax on taxable base (price − trade allowance)
  • Amount financed = price + tax + doc − down − net trade − rebates
  • Standard amortization (PMT) for monthly payment
Outputs
  • Live monthly payment + total cost of the deal
  • 0–N alternate scenarios flagged with a recommended pick
  • Shareable branded quote page at a private token URL
What lands in your inbox

A real recommendation, not a dashboard to hunt through.

Every run posts a decision-ready card to your Command Center — with the math shown, the writeback pre-wired, and a one-tap path to approve, edit, or hold.

Pitlane+

Templates, scenarios, approvals, and a shareable quote — one screen, sixty seconds.

Reusable templates

Standardize term, APR, doc fee, and tax by store. Change one, apply everywhere.

Side-by-side scenarios

Show the shorter term next to the lower payment. Let the customer pick.

Approval workflow

Draft → pending → approved. Only managers can approve. Full decision trail.

Shareable customer quote

A polished, branded page at a private token URL. No login required.

We stopped losing deals to the customer walking away for 'just one more number.' The scenario page is what closes it.

Answers

The questions dealers ask us first.

Is the payment math accurate?+

Yes — standard amortization (PMT) on amount financed. Sales tax computed on the taxable base after trade allowance.

Who can approve?+

Owners, managers, and admins. Sales staff can build and submit but not approve their own pencils.

Can we revoke a share link?+

Yes — delete or archive the deal and the token stops resolving. Regenerating a token is a one-click action.

Does it write back to the DMS?+

Approved pencils flow into the desk log. DMS writeback follows the same adapter pattern as Pricing Scout.
